INA Opens Our 2024 Call for Leadership!

DEADLINE EXTENDED TO AUGUST 12. All interested candidates MUST complete a Consent to Serve form by the deadline of midnight on August 12th.


Are you interested in running for an INA Leadership position? Now is the time! The time has come for INA to open our Leadership Elections Call for Candidates for Board of Director positions. Are you ready to be an association leader and take your involvement with INA to the next level? INA has the following positions to fill:

  • Secretary
  • Treasurer

  • Director-at-Large (2)

  • Region Vice President (1 per region)

  • Region Secretary (1 per region)

  • Nominations Committee (2)

  • INA Foundation Director (2)

All positions are for two year terms and take office immediately following the election results shared during the INA Membership Assembly scheduled for October 22nd - except for INA Foundation Director position which is a three year term.

The INA Leadership Elections Call for Candidates opened on June 19th and closes at midnight on August 12th.

All interested candidates MUST complete a Consent to Serve form by the deadline of August 12th. Incomplete Consent to Serves will not be considered.

Those elected for an INA Board of Directors position should plan to join the December 12, 2024, virtual board meeting, from 3:30pm to 5:00pm CST.

Those elected to serve on the INA Foundation Board of Directors should plan to join the following 2024 meetings in October, November, and December.

Position Descriptions 

Secretary: The Secretary is accountable for the record keeping and reporting of meetings of INA and serves as a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. In the case of a simultaneous vacancy in the offices of President and President-Elect, the Secretary shall act as President, and vacant offices shall be filled by a quorum of the remaining Board of Directors, at a special meeting of the Board.

Treasurer: The Treasurer shall be accountable for the fiscal affairs of INA and be able to interpret INA financials. Give updates on the financial standing of INA to the Board of Directors and membership. Serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. Chairs the Finance Committee.

Director-at-Large: The Director provides leadership for the association. Participates in developing objectives against which to review program progress and measure the association’s effectiveness in accomplishing its mission. Has legal and fiscal responsibilities to the members of the association.

Nominations Committee: Members of the nominations committee will identify candidates for positions on the Board of Directors and other elected committees. Monitor the composition and qualifications of the board and committees to ensure they are representative and responsive to the membership. The committee also has oversight of the INA Nurse Recognition Awards.

Region Vice President: The Region Vice President provides strong leadership for the Region and sets a sound and proper course for its future. Assumes the responsibilities of the Region President in his/her absence and performs special functions for the Region as assigned by the Region President.

NOTE: The Region President is responsible for organizing region meetings. They are also responsible for communicating the call for nominations for their region, INA region elections, and nominating region members for awards.

INA Foundation Director: The INF Director provides leadership for conducting the business of the Iowa Nurses Foundation. Contribute direction for volunteer recruitment, recognition, and participation in activities. Solicit money from donors and participate in fundraising events. Support INF financially with a personal contribution. Participate in INA activities and events. (i.e., Legislative Day, Annual Conference and Membership Assembly.)
